RIYADH: In a major development, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman on Wednesday announced the discovery of two new natural gas fields in the country.
The unconventional natural gas field, “Awtad” was discovered in southwest of the Ghawar field, one-hundred and forty-two kilometers southwest of Hofuf city, arabia Press Agency reported.
Aramco of Saudi Arabia Discovered Both the Natural Gas Fields
The unconventional natural gas field, “Al-Dahna” is located two hundred and thirty kilometers southwest of Dhahran city. Aramco company discovered both the natural gas fields.
Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister said that the significance of these new discoveries lies in soaring Arabia’s natural gas reserves, which would, in turn, support the Kingdom’s strategies and help realize the objectives of the Liquid Fuel Displacement Program.
The Energy Minister said that the discoveries underline the wealth of natural resources the Kingdom has at its disposal.
