Saudi Arabia Attends Chemical-Weapons Prohibition Meeting in Netherlands

THE HAGUE: Saudi Arabia has attended the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) executive council meeting in The Hague, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The Saudi ambassador to the Netherlands and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the OPCW, Ziyad Al-Attiyah, highlighted the Kingdom’s firm position that calls for boosting international cooperation in the prohibition of all types of mass destruction weapons.

He said the use of chemical weapons and toxic chemicals as weapons anywhere by anyone and under any circumstances is prohibited and a violation of the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention and the international law.
