Saudi Arabia Bans Visit Visa Holders from Entering Makkah During Hajj Season

ISLAMABAD: The Saudi Ministry of Interior has imposed a ban on entry to Makkah for all individuals holding visit visas during the Hajj season, from May 23 to June 21, 2024.

The ministry in a statement issued on Thursday, said that visit visa holders do not have permission to perform Hajj, according Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The ministry has advised visiting visa holders without permission for Hajj to avoid travelling to Makkah during this period to avoid penalties according to Saudi regulations.

Security and organizational steps are being taken to ensure the safety of authorized pilgrims during the Hajj rituals.

Pakistani Pilgrims Reach Saudi Arabia

Meanwhile, the arrival of Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia continued to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said that so far, 31,057 intending pilgrims have arrived from Pakistan in Madinah through 126 flights under the government scheme.

Besides, over 2,000 pilgrims have reached Makkah Mukarramah under the private Hajj 2024 scheme.
