RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry on Sunday called for an end to an escalation of violence in Gaza. The foreign ministry of Saudi Arabia also called for all parties to respect international law.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of the targeting of unarmed civilians “in any way” amid the ongoing violence in Gaza. According to an official statement from the foreign ministry, Prince Faisal emphasized the urgent need to halt the escalation and urged all parties involved to adhere to international humanitarian law.

Saudi Arabia Stresses Joint Action Plan to End Conflict

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of a joint action plan to address the crisis and called for concerted efforts to de-escalate the situation and prevent further violence. He also urged the international community to initiate a peace initiative focused on achieving a sustainable two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Prince Faisal reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to the two-state solution, emphasizing that efforts should be directed towards reviving hope in this resolution, which he described as the only viable path to lasting peace in the region.

313 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza

Meanwhile, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 313 as Israeli airstrikes continue to devastate the region, with close to 2,000 people wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Israel has struck 426 targets in Gaza, resulting in the flattening of residential buildings in massive explosions, leaving a significant portion of the territory in ruins.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that over 20,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza’s border regions to seek refuge further inside the territory, particularly in UN schools.

Humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza are facing substantial challenges in delivering aid and medical assistance due to the intensifying conflict. Amid the crisis, Israel announced on Saturday night its decision to cut electricity supply to the besieged territory. Gaza, home to approximately two million people, has been enduring an Israeli blockade encompassing air, land, and sea routes.
