Saudi Arabia Continues with Efforts to Help Palestinians in Gaza

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has continued with its relief and humanitarian efforts to help the Palestinian people affected in the Gaza Strip to end their sufferings, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

The efforts of Saudi Arabia through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) reflect its approach to help needy and affected people across the world.

On the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, KSrelief initiated a fundraising campaign on November 2, for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Under the campaign Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the KSrelief Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah announced a donation of SAR30 million by King Slaman and SAR20 million by the Crown Prince. The other donations by the public stood at SAR 544,710,000.

KSrelief operated 24 relief planes for Palestinians in Gaza

Meanwhile, the KSrelief operated 24 relief planes to El Arish International Airport in Egypt for the people of Gaza. The assistance included food baskets, shelter bags, tents, blankets, mattresses, winter clothing bags, dried baby formula, dates and medical materials, weighing 573 tons.

The Saudi humanitarian arm also sent ambulances, including 14 that entered the strip, out of 20 that will arrive in Gaza.

The KSrelief also sent three ships from Jeddah to Port Said in Egypt carrying 401 containers, 258 of which had medical supplies for the hospitals in Gaza.

Furthermore, the center signed four cooperation agreements with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the World Food Program to help the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The efforts of Saudi Arabia are part of its ongoing humanitarian projects for the people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip through KSrelief.
