RIYADH: Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from European Council President António Costa on Thursday during which they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
During the talks, they reviewed existing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and EU countries and explored ways to further enhance it across various sectors.
The leaders also discussed regional and international issues and efforts undertaken to promote security and stability, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It is pertinent to mention that trade volume between the two sides, has reached approximately $52 billion by mid-2024.
In December last year, a trade meeting between Saudi Arabia and the European Union was held in Riyadh to discuss trade regulations, customs systems, market access, knowledge exchange, enhancing trade and investment, and addressing trade barriers.
Earlier this week Saudi Arabia and Italy signed an agreement to establish the Strategic Partnership Council aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni signed the agreement following a meeting between the two leaders in AlUla on Sunday.
