RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology hosted the Multiverse Summit on Saturday in Silicon Valley, US, under the slogan “Building New AI Frontiers”, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The summit brought together technology and investment leaders to discuss the latest developments in AI. The summit covered six sessions discussing the future of AI, and the challenges and opportunities of using it further in various industries, SPA reported.
One session featured Groq founder and CEO Jonathan Ross, who discussed Groq’s global AI story, vision for the future, Groq’s activities in the Kingdom, and the implications of innovations for the public.
Another session delved into investment in AI and strategies for identifying global winners, with a16z General Partner Anjney Midha.
Yet another session focused on using AI at the workplace. Meta’s Vice President of AI Manohar Paluri delved into effective integration of AI, practical applications, real-world examples, and how to overcome challenges to increase productivity and innovation.
The fourth session featured the founder and CEO of Luminar Technologies and Vice President of AI at Meta, who discussed how future technologies will be helped to advance through AI, how to use AI to advance autonomous technologies, and strategies for providing a seamless user experience in autonomous systems.
The fifth session was led by Social Capital’s Founder & CEO Chamath Palihapitiya who discussed the next wave of AI technologies that will shape the industry.
The final session, led by Education Fellow at Stanford & Researcher at Google Dr. Peter Norvig, discussed investment in AI startups and the key factors that ensure a successful scale-up, along with how AI is poised to transform many industries.
The summit aims to boost partnerships between entrepreneurs in the Kingdom and the US, as part of the Kingdom’s endeavor to foster digital innovation and support emerging companies, conform with Vision 2030.
