Saudi Arabia to Hold Two-day International Islamic Conference

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will host an Islamic conference in Makkah Mukarramah, bringing together 150 religious leaders and muftis from eighty-five countries to promote moderation.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud approved holding the conference, set to take place on 13-14 August, according to Saudi media.

Participants of the conference will address issues relating to terrorism and extremism, as well as promoting coexistence and tolerance among people through seven panel discussions.

Conference to establish connections

The two-day seminar, organized by Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs aims to create connections among scholars and religious departments around the world and underline their role in promoting unity in the Muslim world, combating extremist ideas, and contributing to tackle violence.
