Saudi Arabia to Host Donors Conference for Displaced Persons, Refugees in Sahel Region

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will host a donors’ conference on Saturday in Jeddah to support displaced persons and refugees in the Sahel and Lake Chad region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

The conference through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), is organized in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and coordination with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The conference aims to mobilize resources for humanitarian and development programs for affected populations, especially displaced individuals and refugees. The moot will also focus on the United Nations’ coordinated humanitarian response plans. The conference will create awareness about the complex crisis and build strong partnerships to enhance effective humanitarian responses and provide greater support for long-term solutions.

The event demonstrates the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to supporting affected and distressed communities across the world, helping to end their suffering and meet their essential needs. It also aligns with the Kingdom’s well-established dedication to contributing to global humanitarian relief efforts.
