— On Monday, five terrorist defendants—four Saudis and one Egyptian—were given the death penalty in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement distributed by Saudi Press Agency that they had been found guilty of carrying out a deadly attack on a place of worship.

The five prisoners were tried for an attack in the Eastern Province that left five people dead and numerous others hurt.

The guilty parties in this horrible act were the Egyptian Talha Hisham Muhammad Abdo and the Saudis Ahmed bin Muhammad Asiri, Nessar bin Abdullah Al-Mousa, Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mousa, and Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Tuwaijri. Five persons were killed and numerous others were injured as a result of a terrorist attack they carried out on a place of worship in the Al-Ahsa governorate.

In addition to being found guilty of shooting at security personnel and a place of worship, Talha, a member of a terrorist group, was also found guilty of attempting to blow himself up. While Abdullah, the fifth inmate, joined the terrorist group, he covered up the terrorist activity and failed to alert the security authorities. Three Saudis—Ahmed, Nessar, and Hamad—entered the terrorist group. Abdullah was held responsible for the planning and execution of the crime along with Talha due to their collaboration in a terrorist group.

The case of the suspected terrorists was brought before a specialized court, which sentenced each of them to death. Charge sheets were submitted against them, establishing their guilt for the accusations made against them. On July 3, 2023, the criminals were given the death punishment in the Eastern Province, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
