Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister Visits BAE Systems in UK

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday paid a visit to the headquarters of BAE Systems in the Wharton city of Cumbria County in the United Kingdom during his current state visit to the UK.

The Saudi Defence Minister was received by the CEO of BAE Systems, Dr. Charles Woodburn, the Chief of Air Staff of Britain’s Royal Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, and the British Military Attaché to Saudi Arabia, Brigadier Jimmy Piggott on his arrival at the company’s headquarters.

Saudi Defence Minister receive briefing

During the visit, Prince Khalid was briefed on the capabilities and features of the Typhoon jet and its combat systems. He was also briefed about the BAE Systems’ future strategies and plans, including the development of air systems, the program for future combat air capabilities, and ways to strengthen the existing collaboration between the company and the Saudi Armed Forces.
