Saudi Authorities File Criminal Cases Against 591 Drug Smugglers

RIYADH: The Public Prosecution of Saudi Arabia announced filing criminal cases against 591 persons accused of smuggling drugs into Saudi Arabia.

The accused persons smuggled drugs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in four months. The Public Prosecution on Sunday initiated 257 smuggling cases by drug prosecutions in regions and governorates of Saudi Arabia.

Drug smugglers 

Public Prosecution said that the narcotic size that the accused tried to smuggle amounted to 40 million amphetamine pills, while the weight of shabu reached 800 kg, and the weight of hashish amounted to 2.5 tons.

The control authorities specialized in drug cases in Saudi Arabia play an effective role in investigating and combating the menace of drug smuggling, pursuing the accused, arresting them and seizing narcotic substances at all the Kingdom’s airports, land, and sea.
