Saudi, British Foreign Ministers Discuss Sudan Crisis, Emphasize Political Solution

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his British counterpart, Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, held discussions on Monday regarding efforts to bridge the gap between Sudanese parties, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The call focused on the ongoing Sudan conflict, with both ministers emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s support for finding a political solution through the Jeddah negotiations. The Jeddah agreement has played a crucial role in facilitating a short-term ceasefire and humanitarian arrangements between the Sudan army and Rapid Support Forces.

In addition to addressing the Sudan crisis, Prince Faisal and Secretary Cleverly also explored avenues to strengthen the robust bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. They discussed enhancing joint coordination on various issues of shared interest, aiming to deepen cooperation and collaboration in areas such as regional security and stability.
