Saudi Cabinet Stresses Importance of Stopping Israeli Aggression in Gaza

ADH: The Saudi Cabinet has stressed the importance of stopping Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, activating international accountability mechanisms, and working to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to end the suffering of the people of Palestine, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chaired the Cabinet session in Riyadh.

The Crown Prince apprised the Cabinet on the recent written message he received from the president of Angola and on his recent meetings with the prime minister of Egypt and China’s premier.

The Cabinet lauded the outcomes of the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee, which embodied the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and highlighted the mutual interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, including political, security, military, energy, trade, investment, financial, scientific, technical, cultural, and tourism sectors.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary after the meeting told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the Cabinet praised the talks held by the prime minister of Egypt with senior officials in the Kingdom, which confirmed the strength of the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries and expressed a common desire to deepen cooperation across various fields to achieve the interests of the two peoples.

The Cabinet also discussed the Kingdom’s overall participation in regional and international meetings as part of its ongoing efforts to cooperate with countries and organizations worldwide to achieve regional security and stability and address global challenges through various means and methods.

The Cabinet welcomed the statement issued at the ministerial meeting held in Madrid on coordinating efforts regarding the situation in Gaza and the steps to implement the two-state solution. The meeting stressed the importance of stopping Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, activating international accountability mechanisms, and working to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The Cabinet addressed the Kingdom’s speech at the 68th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, during which it stressed the ongoing implementation of the national nuclear energy project and the construction of the first nuclear power plant to achieve sustainable development in line with national requirements and global obligations.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s emphasis, during the G20 meetings, on the importance of enhancing international cooperation and joint efforts to achieve international food security and support the benefits of the space economy through adopting strategic transformations and providing sustainable solutions in these two areas.

The Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the international conferences and meetings hosted by Saudi Arabia, which align with the national visions and aspirations to strengthen the Kingdom’s position and leadership in various areas while opening new horizons to enhance its present and future role on the global stage.

The Cabinet authorized the minister of foreign affairs to discuss and sign with the Egyptian side the draft minutes for the formation of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council.

It also approved the amended protocol for the minutes of establishing the Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council.

The session authorized the minister of justice, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Justice and WIPO regarding the publication of judicial decisions.

The Cabinet authorized the minister of investment, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Jordanian side a draft amended annex to the agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments between Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

It authorized the minister of education or a deputy to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation with Guinea-Bissau’s Ministry of National Education, Culture, Science, Youth, and Sports.

The session authorized the minister of transport and logistic services, chairman of the board of directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), or a deputy to discuss a draft memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation with the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) in the field of civil aviation.

It also approved the indicative model for a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and its counterpart agencies in other countries for cooperation in their areas of expertise.
