Saudi Crown Prince Demands ‘Serious’ Peace Process for Palestinian State

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday demanded the start of a serious and comprehensive peace process to establish an independent Palestinian state along the borders of 1967.

Addressing a virtual summit of the BRICS group, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister urged all countries to stop the export of weapons to Israel. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister called for the initiation of a comprehensive and serious peace process to establish a Palestinian state along the borders of 1967.

During his address, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman emphasized that achieving security and stability in Palestine depends on implementing international decisions pertaining to a two-state solution. He expressed the Kingdom’s strong rejection of the enforced displacement of Palestinians and urged nations worldwide to halt arms exports to Israel.

Saudi Crown Prince Demands Immediate End to Israeli Military Operations in Gaza

“We demand an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza,” stated the Crown Prince, who is also prime minister adding that underscoring the urgency of addressing the ongoing conflict. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip and called for the immediate entry of aid into the territory.

Saudi Arabia has taken proactive steps in providing humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza. Fifteen planes carrying various relief aid, including shelter materials, food, and ambulances, have been sent by the Kingdom. Additionally, a sea bridge was established to facilitate the delivery of aid to innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the chair of the extraordinary BRICS summit, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, accused Israel of war crimes and genocide in Gaza. President Ramaphosa condemned the collective punishment of Palestinian civilians and referred to the unlawful use of force by Israel as a war crime. He further denounced the deliberate denial of essential resources such as medicine, fuel, food, and water to the residents of Gaza as tantamount to genocide.
