Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Congratulates Erdogan on Re-election Win

RIYADH:  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has made a phone call to Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated him on his victory, Arab media reported on Thursday.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Crown Prince felicitated Tayyip Erdogan after he was declared the winner in a historic runoff election in Turkiye. During the conversation, Crown Prince Mohammed wished Erdogan success and the people of Turkiye further prosperity and progress.

Earlier, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had congratulated Erdogan on his re-election for a new presidential term.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had sent a cable of congratulations to President Erdogan on his re-election. The King also extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes of success to the Turkish President and wished the brotherly people of Türkiye further prosperity.

The head of Türkiye’s Election Commission announced on Sunday that Erdogan has been re-elected as the country’s President. The Commission said that Erdogan won Türkiye’s presidency over opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the 2nd-round runoff vote. The chief of the Election Commission said that the current President won the contest with 52.14 percent, while Kilicdaroglu got 47.86 percent of the votes following counting 99.43 percent of the votes.
