MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday held a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. Both leaders discussed cooperation within the OPEC+ group of oil-producing countries aimed to maintain oil price stability, the Kremlin said in a statement.
Ministers from the OPEC+ organization will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday.
OPEC+ oil production policy
Two OPEC+ delegates said on Monday that the panel was likely to recommend keeping the group’s current oil output policy.
So far, Russian oil production has shown resilience in the face of Western sanctions imposed after Moscow sent forces into Ukraine on February 24 and price caps introduced by Western nations in December.
