WASHINGTON: Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Defence Minister, met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan at the White House on Tuesday.

The deep-rooted strategic ties between the two states were reviewed during the meeting. They discussed the regional and international developments, most importantly the developments in Gaza and its surroundings, and the global efforts exerted.

The defence minister underscored the importance of implementing a ceasefire in Gaza, enabling unimpeded humanitarian aid delivery, safeguarding civilian lives, putting an end to forced displacements, and actively working to restore peace. This effort aims to ensure that the Palestinian population can attain their legitimate right and establish an autonomous state with East Jerusalem as its capital, thereby bringing about a fair and all-encompassing peace.

Prince Musab bin Mohammed bin Fahd, the deputy head of the Kingdom’s mission to the United States, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and several other officials from both sides attended the meeting. —SPA/APP
