Saudi Delegation Attends 67th Session of UN Committee for Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

VIENNA: The Saudi delegation has concluded its participation in the 67th session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), held in Vienna, from June 19 to 28, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

This activity confirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) commitment to promoting global cooperation for the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space and also highlights its efforts in developing the global space industry.

On the sidelines of the event, the Saudi delegation hosted a meeting entitled “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Towards Space: Stimulating the Space Sector.” Attended by over 80 space leaders and experts, the meeting targeted promising opportunities to advance the international space industry to new heights.

The conference was opened by the Permanent Representative of the KSA to the UN and other global organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Dr. Abdullah bin Khaled Toula. He also highlighted the significance role of international cooperation in supporting the space sector, noting the significance of global cooperation and coordination in the continued growth and sustainability of space activities across the world.

The Saudi delegation has highlighted the important progress achieved in developing the space sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), including the country’s key achievements to enhance space sustainability through initiatives such as the Space Debris Conference held last February.
