DAMASCUS: Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has explored ways to support Syria’s security, stability, and unity with new Syrian administration leader Ahmad al-Sharaa in Damascus.

New Syrian administration leader Ahmad al-Sharaa received the Saudi Foreign Minister, who conveyed to him and the Syrian people the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

The Syrian leader reciprocated by extending his greetings to the leadership of Saudi Arabia.

The discussions focused on supporting Syria’s security, stability, and unity. The two leaders explored efforts to bolster political, humanitarian, and economic conditions in Syria, particularly those aimed at lifting the imposed sanctions.

The meeting stressed the importance of providing all forms of aid and support to Syria during this critical period to restore stability across the country and enable the revival of its national institutions in line with the aspirations of the Syrian people.

Earlier this month Syrian foreign minister Asaad Al-Shaibani visited Saudi Arabia and held important meetings with Saudi leadership.

Al-Sharaa, leader of the Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) group, spearheaded an 11-day offensive that led to the ouster of Bashar al-Assad ending the family’s five-decade rule.
