RIYADH: Saudi Arabia Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has called for a firm global response to end Israeli violations in Palestine and Lebanon, which undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and contribute to instability, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The foreign minister made the remarks while opening the first meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Riyadh.

The coalition, announced by Saudi Arabia last month in collaboration with its global partners, aims to advance practical efforts toward peace in the region.

Prince Faisal in his remarks, welcomed Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini along with the attending delegations.

The Foreign Minister called upon an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and detainees, and the end of impunity through accountability mechanisms.
