Saudi Foreign Minister Held Session with Counterparts Prior to Arab League Summit

Prior to the Arab League conference on Friday in Jeddah, foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan had meetings with a number of high-ranking officials and foreign ministers.

To discuss Saudi-Tunisian relations, local and global events, security and stability, Prince Faisal met with his Tunisian counterpart, Nabil Ammar.

Both Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sager, the Kingdom’s ambassador to Tunisia, and Ambassador Sami Saleh, the assistant minister of state for African countries affairs, were present at the meeting.

The fourth meeting of the Political, Security, and Military Committee of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council was attended by the prince and his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Mohamad Hussein.

They discussed methods to improve communication and the stepping up of collaborative planning in the military, security, and political spheres.

Along with other senior representatives from both sides, the conference was also attended by Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, who serves as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Undersecretary for Political Affairs.

Over the five days prior to the summit, meetings between foreign ministers and top officials have been occurring.

Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, and Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine, are among the numerous heads of state and government who have already arrived.

The majority of the leaders started showing up for the 32nd regular session of the Arab League Summit on Thursday afternoon, including Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al-Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of the Sultan of Oman. On Friday, the 32nd Arab League meeting is scheduled to occur.
