RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah praised a group of individuals for assisting a distressed pilgrim in Makkah. A viral video showed these men helping a lost pilgrim who had ended up on a highway in the holy city. They drove the pilgrim back to his residence after scanning the barcode on his Nusuk Card to find his information.

The Nusuk Card is an ID issued to pilgrims, allowing others to assist them if they get lost or separated from their group. During the drive back, the grateful pilgrim attempted to offer money, but the men declined.

The man in the video said that he had experienced something similar twice, the first time it had involved an Indian pilgrim.

Minister Al-Rabiah emphasized the importance of the Nusuk Card, which grants pilgrims access to all holy sites and facilitates their Hajj journey with various services. From the moment of arrival till the moment of departure, the card needs to be carried.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, requires every adult Muslim to undertake the journey to Makkah at least once in their lifetime, provided they are financially and physically able. The minister highlighted that the card plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims during their spiritual journey.
