Saudi Industry Minister Explores Joint Opportunities with Leading Global Companies

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of leading global industrial companies and international financial institutions to explore opportunities for economic cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, attended the meetings, on the sidelines of the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) in Riyadh.

The meetings focused on enhancing economic cooperation, especially in the industrial and mining sectors, as well as incentives and facilities provided by Saudi Arabia for investors.

The meetings also discussed opportunities across 12 key industrial sectors targeted for development and localization under the National Industrial Strategy, including aerospace, food, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, automotive, knowledge transfer, and the latest smart manufacturing solutions for the Saudi industrial sector.

The discussions also revolved around advanced financial technologies and the expansion plans of some global companies in Saudi Arabia. The meetings also highlighted the investment opportunities in Kingdom’s mining sector, covering all stages from exploration to extraction and processing.

 Alkhorayef’s meetings with prominent global company leaders included discussions with the executive vice president of strategy at Airbus, the CEO of Nestle Middle East and North Africa, the chairman of BMW, the chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank, the head of private equity at Brookfield, the chairman of Vale, a leading global mining company, the CEO of 3D Systems, the CEO of Boeing International, representatives from Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, and the founder and chairman of SoftBank Group.
