MADRID: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has held meetings with Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Hereu and Minister of Economy, Trade, and Business Carlos Cuerpo to discuss strengthening economic ties and attracting Spanish investment to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
During his meeting with Hereu in Madrid, Alkhorayef stressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing ties and exploring cooperation opportunities with Spain. He highlighted the objectives of Vision 2030, which focus on diversifying the Saudi economy and attracting foreign investment to the industrial and mining sectors, outlining the incentives and resources available to investors.
With Cuerpo, discussions focused on industrial and mining cooperation, including establishing joint research and development centers focused on manufacturing and mining innovation, developing technological capabilities, and exploring opportunities in mineral exploration and extraction.
Alkhorayef and Cuerpo also agreed to encourage investments of Spanish private sector in major Saudi construction projects.
