RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Interior has launched the digital identity service for individuals arriving in the Kingdom on a Hajj visa, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote digital transformation and harness technology to serve the people, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Ministry of Interior said it was developed in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Hajj and Umrah, as well as the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).

It allows pilgrims to verify their identity electronically through the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms to streamline their journey, improve the quality of services provided to them, and enhance their experience.

The introduction of the national identity service for pilgrims seeks to ensure the standards of highest quality in serving them and keep pace with digital transformation advancements in the services offered during their stay in the Kingdom.
