Saudi, Iranian FMs Stress International Community’s Involvement for Gaza Ceasefire

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, received a phone call on Sunday from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

During the phone call, they discussed the recent developments in Gaza and the importance of the international community’s involvement in achieving a ceasefire and ensuring the safety of Palestinian civilians amidst the intensifying military operations. They also explored opportunities for boosting relations and fostering development in diverse fields.

Saudi and Spanish FMs Discuss Gaza Situation

Meanwhile, according to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal also held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares. During the conversation, Prince Faisal appreciated Spain’s support for the United Nations (UN) resolution, which aims for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip, while adhering to international laws, norms, and humanitarian principles.

The two ministers discussed the evolving situation in Gaza and its surroundings, emphasizing the international community’s role in achieving a ceasefire and protecting civilians. Prince Faisal stressed the importance of efforts to prevent further bloodshed, halt military operations, and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

Saudi and French FMs Discuss Gaza Situation

The Saudi Foreign Minister also held a phone call with French Minister of Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna, Saudi Press Agency reported. At the start of the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the support of the French Republic regarding the United Nations resolution issued on October 27, 2023. This resolution aims to achieve an immediate ceasefire and establish an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip while upholding international laws, norms, and humanitarian principles.

During their conversation, the two ministers discussed the ongoing military escalation in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Ali Sabry, Saudi Press Agency reported. At the onset of the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the support of Sri Lanka regarding the United Nations resolution issued on October 27, 2023. This resolution aims to secure an immediate ceasefire and establish an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip while upholding international laws, norms, and humanitarian principles.

During their conversation, the two ministers discussed the precarious situation in the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas. They emphasized the pivotal role that the international community must play in achieving a ceasefire, protecting civilians, and enabling humanitarian and relief organizations to deliver vital aid to the Gaza Strip.
