ISLAMABAD: Authorities in Yemen’s Al Mahra Governate received a grant of 4,491,000 liters of diesel from Saudi Arabia. This is the Kingdom’s second batch of the oil derivatives provided to the region as a grant.

In order to help Yemen, operate over 70 power plants, Saudi Arabia’s Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman have asked the concerned authorities to make the delivery in a bid to support the Yemeni people.

Saudi oil derivatives grant boosts Yemen’s economy

The Saudi Program for the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) in its previous grant of oil derivatives had doubled the power plants’ capacity such that the target needed during the stations’ operating period would reach 3,119 gigawatt-hours.

The previous grant enabled the provision of electric power to Yemen’s General Electricity Corporation’s 760,000 subscribers. The beneficiaries of this step were 9,800,000 people whereas the per-subscriber mean consumption was 37 kilowatt-hours.

The new grant directly contributes to the operation of medical centers, roads, hospitals, schools, airports, government facilities, and ports.

Thereby, the Saudi grants boost Yemen’s economic and commercial activity in all governorates thus improving all facets of life.
