Saudi Red Crescent Authority, ICRC Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

RIYADH: President of Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi has met with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric in Riyadh and discussed cooperation in humanitarian and relief operations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

The ICRC president on the occasion also toured several humanitarian and ambulance facilities at the authority, where she was briefed on the latest innovations in humanitarian and ambulance work. She also visited SRCA’s National Center for Command and Control.

The two officials reviewed a presentation by the Permanent Committee on International Humanitarian Law, which emphasised national achievements in respecting and applying international humanitarian law.

They discussed joint efforts to provide humanitarian support in multiple disaster and crisis areas across the world, and arrangements to facilitate the resumption of family links for detainees and missing persons.

The visit demonstrates the two parties’ commitment to strengthening humanitarian work and providing support to communities who need it.
