RIYADH: Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) held educational and awareness events all over Saudi Arabia to observe the World First Aid Day, which falls on September 14, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
The theme of the day for this year was “First Aid and Sports”. At various public locations across the Kingdom, participants learned essential first-aid skills through training sessions led by emergency medical services specialists.
Using training dolls, they used techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), managing sports injuries and treating choking. The latest first aid equipment, including the LUCAS device, an advanced mechanical system that provides continuous chest compressions during CPR was also showcased.
SRCA highlighted the significance of first aid in saving lives. Public and private agencies participated in the events to create public awareness about how to respond to sports-related emergencies like injuries, burns, suffocation, fainting, fractures, and other common ailments.
