Saudi Scholarship Students in China Promoting Cultural Exchange, Economic Growth

RIYADH: Saudi students pursuing education on government scholarships in China are playing a significant role in strengthening cultural connections with China while acquiring the skills necessary to contribute to the country’s economic development.

These remarks were made by Bandar AlKhorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during a meeting with Saudi students in Beijing, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.

The meeting with the students was part of AlKhorayef’s visit to enhance economic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China in the industrial and mining sectors.

Addressing the students, AlKhorayef highlighted the importance of the Kingdom’s scholarship program as a vital cultural bridge between the two countries. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia relies on these students to acquire the expertise needed to transform the country into a global economic powerhouse.

The Minister underscored that this aligns with the objectives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program and the Human Capability Development Program.

Furthermore, AlKhorayef mentioned that the Ministry and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority are committed to assisting the students in securing employment opportunities within the industrial and mining sectors.

The meeting was attended by various industry leaders, including Khalid Al-Salem, President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and Khaled Al-Mudaifer, Deputy Minister for Mining Affairs. Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to China, Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, and Cultural Attache Ahmed Al-Zahrani, were also present at the gathering.
