RIYADH: The Speaker of Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, has met with Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and discussed ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
During the meeting at the council’s Riyadh headquarters the Speaker of Shura Council stressed the importance of bolstering parliamentary relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
Al Al-Sheikh highlighted the significance of Saudi-Russian ties, evident through high-level visits. He briefed Volodin on functions of the Shura Council’s, stressing its active role in international parliamentary forums.
State Duma Speaker Volodin acknowledged the special relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia, emphasizing the development of parliamentary ties for overall advancement.
The talks covered mutual concerns, focusing on joint actions in various areas. Volodin and his delegation also attended part of the Shura Council’s session and toured its facilities, followed by a luncheon hosted by Al-Sheikh.
