Saudi Sports Minister Hails Success of FIFA Club World Cup 2023 in KSA: SPA

JEDDAH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal has confirmed the success of the international event represented by the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, which fulfilled all its pledges and reflected the great capabilities the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) enjoys in hosting the largest and most significant continental and global sporting events, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

According to the SPA, the Minister said, “We are happy with the success of this international event, as the sports sector has received all the generous support and great interest from the Saudi leadership, which made our great homeland a preferred destination in several sports and all forums.”

The Minister thanked FIFA for its great efforts and cooperation to make this edition of the event a success in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), which was marked by the crowning of the English Manchester City side as a new champion for the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in its history.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal also cited the great enthusiasm and fierce competition among all the participating teams, amid a remarkable public presence from different continents of the globe, who participated in making this mega event a great success, the SPA reported.

At the conclusion of his speech, he congratulated the English Manchester City team for achieving the 2023 Club World Cup title, wishing all other teams’ good luck and success in the upcoming events.
