KAMPALA: On behalf of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, has attended the IGAD summit at the leadership level, held in Uganda, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
The Vice Minister also delivered a speech, in which he expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) firm position on supporting and strengthening Saudi-African ties in a way that consolidates its ties with African nations and IGAD member countries.
He stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) keenness to preserve the unity and integrity of the territories of both Somalia and Sudan in a way that contributes to maintaining security, stability and integration among the nations of the region.

He said that KSA’s position on the Sudanese crisis is to preserve the unity, integrity of Sudan’s territories and state institutions as well as the capabilities of the people of Sudan, praising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) partnership with the IGAD and the African Union about the current situation in the Sudan, the SPA reported.
El-Khereiji also indicated that implementing the Jeddah Declaration and committing to protect civilians in accordance with the principles of global humanitarian law and human rights principles is the way to address the current crisis in brotherly Sudan, the SPA maintained. He said that the Kingdom believes that the results Jeddah Platform has achieved and received the support of the Sudanese people and great global support, which has encouraged the resumption of Jeddah talks 2, with the participation of representatives of the African Union and IGAD, the SPA added.
The summit was also attended by Director General of the Office of the Vice minister of Foreign Affairs Mutashar Al-Enezi, the SPA further reported.
