ISLAMABAD: Over 700,000 people participated in a donation campaign in Saudi Arabia that has so far collected over $66.6 million for earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.
Saudi government’s Sahem Platform said that the drive saw the participation of 709,775 people. The platform is responsible for the popular campaign for the relief of the quake victims in both.
Saudi government ordered campaign
The donation campaign was started on Wednesday by the King Salman Relief Centre, a day after King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in order to operate an air bridge and organize a popular drive through the Sahem Platform, to support Turkiye and Syria in after earthquakes.
The drive update shows a considerable increase in the number of participants and the value of donations since the campaign started.
