SC asks PTI chief to wait for IHC verdict in Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD: The relief is far fetch dream for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan who was asked to wait it out the verdict from Islamabad High Court as Supreme Court turned him down for a stay on the case.

Imran Khan’s request a put a hold on to the proceedings until both the SC and the high court issued their respective decisions.

Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi and Justice Musarat Hilali formed the three member bench and made these remarks during the hearing of Imran Khan’s petition against the Toshakhana case.

Khawaja Haris representing PTI’s Chief Imran Khan was told by the SC that it will take up the case once the High Court announce it orders.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed Imran Khan’s appeal for a hearing on August 3, Thursday.

Justice Yahya Afridi made it clear to Imran Khan’s lawyers that the plea was ineffective. “First, let the high court decide, then the case will be filed in the Supreme Court.”

The apex court also issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan officials relating to the case, while adjourning the hearing of the PTI chief’s petition till August 4, Friday.
