Scholarships for Pakistani Students Under Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2023-24

Beijing: Under the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the government of China is giving Pakistani students/scholars a chance to continue their studies and carry out research at the universities of China under the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) Program 2023-24.

Selected students under the CGS will get a chance to participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of study, including history, agriculture, economics, and science.

This program offers an undergraduate course with four to five years of study tenure, a Master’s with two to three years of study tenure, and a doctoral with three to four years of research tenure.

Selected candidates for this scholarship will also get mandatory one to two years of Chinese language preparatory classes.

Eligibility Criteria: –

  • The applicants must be Pakistani or from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK); dual nationals are not eligible for the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) Program 2023-24.
  • Applicants should be in good health.
  • Only candidates who have completed their degrees can apply for these scholarships.
  • For applying for scholarships at the BS level, candidates should have a relevant degree of intermediate as FS, FSc, or A-Level. It should be equal to 12 years of education by the closing date, and the applicant should be under the age of 25 years.
  • For applying for scholarships at the MS level, candidates should have a relevant degree of BS. It should be equal to 16 years of education by the closing time, and the applicant should be under the age of 35 years.
  • For applying for scholarships at the Ph.D. level, candidates should have a relevant degree of MS/MPhil. It should be equal to 18 years of education by the closing time, and the applicant should not be above 40 years of age.

All candidates must fulfill the application requirement of the China Scholarship Council (CSP) and the admission criteria of the respective university.

The last date to apply for Chinese Government Scholarships (CGS) 2022-23 is December 15, 2022.

Candidates must apply online at both websites of the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) and Higher Education Commission (HEC); otherwise, their applications will be rejected. Candidates sending applications through another mode will not be entertained.

Applicants should provide all the supporting documents in the required format, or their applications will be rejected.

Documents Required: –

1. Copy of signed application forms downloaded from HEC and CSC online portals is required for applying.

2. Attested copies of all educational documents, domicile, one photocopy of CNIC/B-form, IBCC equivalency certificate, and HEC equivalency.

3. A research proposal with 200 words for undergraduate and 800 for postgraduate and Ph.D. degrees.

4. For Ph.D. candidates, copies of research publications and achievements are required.

5. Language proficiency certificate (HSK/ IELTS/TOEFL).

6. A passport copy is valid until March 1, 2024.

7. Copy of all physical examinations and blood tests record in English.

8. Police clearance certificate not older than six months before the scholarship application deadline.

9. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer if the candidate is employed.
