LAHORE: As the academic year comes to an end, schools across Punjab are being closed today for the eagerly awaited summer vacations. In light of the recent heat wave, the provincial government has issued a notification declaring the start of summer vacations from May 25. The holidays will end on August 14, with schools reopening on August 15.

Starting tomorrow (Saturday), students and teachers in Punjab will enjoy a break from their usual routines, marking the beginning of the summer vacations. These vacations are highly anticipated by students, offering them a chance to relax, spend time with family, and participate in recreational activities.

On the last day of school, various activities and farewell events have been organized to celebrate the end of the school term, adding to the students’ excitement. As the summer break begins, families are making plans for vacations and other leisure activities to fully enjoy this time off.

Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over various parts of Pakistan during the upcoming twelve hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday. However, isolated rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are expected in the Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
