ISLAMABAD: Iranian Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammad Atabak Noor Khan has arrived in Islamabad to take part in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) council of heads of governments meeting.
According to media reports, additional Secretary for Afghanistan and West Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Naseem Warraich has received the visiting Iranian Minister. Iranian Ambassador in Pakistan Dr. Raza Amiri Muqadam was also present at the airport. Children dressed in traditional dress presented bouquets of flowers to the foreign dignitaries.
As per media reports, a red carpet was rolled out to welcome the distinguished guests, underscoring the significance of the event and the cordial ties between the two countries.
Earlier, Prime Ministers of China, and Russia also arrived in Islamabad. The SCO member states will be represented by Prime Ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan as well as Minister for Industry and Trade of Iran and External Affairs Minister of India. China’s Premier Li Qiang will represent his nation in the summit.
