ISLAMABAD: Amer Ali Ahmad, the secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), led a Live E-Katcheri session today at the BISP Headquarters in Islamabad.

This online discussion was held as a follow-up to a meeting last week intended to address any lingering issues with the tranche payout under the Benazir Kafaalat Programme. It was hosted on the official Facebook page of BISP.

During the live E-Katcheri, Secretary BISP actively engaged with BISP beneficiaries and the general public, attentively addressing their live calls and inquiries. He used this platform to directly communicate with beneficiaries and gain valuable insights into their challenges during registration.

The predominant issues raised during the session were related to eligibility status and the non-receipt of financial assistance. In response, Secretary BISP promptly issued directives to the relevant officers, instructing them to establish direct contact with affected beneficiaries and resolve their concerns within a day.

As a result of these efforts, 897 complaints have been successfully resolved, leading to the recovery of over Rs. 1.4 million. In a swift response, the BISP management took immediate action against agents responsible for unauthorized deductions. To date, 12 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed, and eight agents have been apprehended.

One specific complaint concerning the unauthorized withdrawal of funds from a beneficiary’s stipend was addressed decisively by Secretary BISP. He directed the Human Resources department to issue immediate suspension orders for the concerned officials in the respective region, ensuring a swift and equitable resolution.

Amer Ali Ahmad underscored the Benazir Income Support Program’s commitment to ensuring the efficient and transparent disbursement of financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries.

He expressed, “The Live E-Katcheri is an integral part of our ongoing efforts to address grievances and concerns raised by our beneficiaries. We are dedicated to providing timely solutions and enhancing the overall experience for those who rely on BISP for support.”
