During his visit, Ambassador Sarwar praised the efforts of the SAARC Apex and recognized bodies in pushing the regional agenda forward. He pledged to work relentlessly to strengthen cooperation among member states and to unlock the full potential of SAARC. Expressing concern, he noted that since the last SAARC summit in 2014, no major events at the government level had been organized to address procedural issues within the SAARC Apex bodies. The Secretary General called for renewed and dedicated efforts to overcome longstanding challenges that have hindered SAARC’s progress.
