RAWALPINDI: On May 26, 2024, security forces conducted a critical intelligence-based operation in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar District following reports of terrorist presence. The operation aimed to neutralize the threat and ensure the safety and security of the region.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists. Additionally, three terrorists sustained injuries during the intense confrontation.
Tragically, in the fierce exchange of gunfire, Captain Hussain Jahangir, 25, from Rahim Yar Khan District, and Havildar Shafiq Ullah, 36, from Karak District, both demonstrated exceptional bravery and leadership, ultimately making the ultimate sacrifice and embracing Shahadat (martyrdom).
The security forces have initiated a sanitization operation in the area to ensure no remaining terrorists pose a threat. This ongoing effort underscores Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and highlights the dedication and valor of its soldiers.
