Security Forces Kill Five Terrorists in Northwestern Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces on Wednesday killed five terrorists and injured two others in an intelligence-based operation in the Lakki Marwat district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said.

The military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a news release stated the security forces engaged the terrorists as a result of which five were “sent to hell”, while two other terrorists were injured.

“A sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji (terrorist) found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” ISPR resolved.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have applauded the security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in Lakki Marwat.

In their separate statements, they commended the bravery of the security forces for their successful action against the terrorists.

The President and the Prime Minister expressed the national resolve to continue operations against terrorists until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.

It is pertinent to mention that three terrorists were killed in two separate security operations in Khyber and South Waziristan districts while a policeman and a local elder were martyred in roadside bomb explosions in Bajaur tribal district on Nov 23.

Twelve personnel were martyred while six terrorists were killed after a checkpost was targeted in the Mali Khel area of KP’s Bannu on November 19.
