ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces killed five terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the Tirah district of the country’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Friday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the conduct of operation, troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location, as a result of which, five terrorists including a ring leader Abidullah were sent to hell, while one terrorist was apprehended.

It said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.

“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji (terrorist) found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” it added.
