RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed five terrorists during intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District of north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted in general area Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan District on reported presence of terrorists.
It said that during the conduct of the operation, Pakistan Army troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location, and resultantly five terrorists including a ring leader Shafiullah Shafi killed.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians,” the ISPR said.
Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
President, PM praise security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for killing five terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan district.
In their separate statements, they reiterated their resolve to completely eliminate the banned terror group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), from the country.
The President and the Prime Minister said the entire nation is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the security forces in the war against terrorism.
