ISLAMABAD: Nine terrorists were killed by the security forces in two separate operations in Pakistan’s North Waziristan District on January 11, 2025, a military statement said on Sunday.
The Inter Services Public Relations in the statement said that the first operation was carried out based on intelligence reports in Dosalli area, where the presence of the terrorists had been reported.
During the operation, the troops successfully targeted the militants’ hideout. Six terrorists of the banned Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed during the engagement, while two others were taken into custody.
The ISPR said that a second intelligence-based operation was conducted in area of Esham within North Waziristan District. After an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed, while two others sustained injuries.

The statement said that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist attacks against the security forces and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitisation operations are underway to clear the area of any remaining Khwarij (Terrorists), as the security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their mission to eradicate terrorism from the country,” the statement added.
President, PM praise security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for conducting successful operations against terrorists in North Waziristan.
In his statement, the President reaffirmed the government’s resolve to completely eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country. He emphasised that the security forces are actively engaged in operations to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, ensuring peace and security for the nation.
In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that entire nation stands by the security forces in the war against terrorism.
He reaffirmed government’s resolve to continue war against terrorism till complete elimination of the menace from the country.
