RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed seven terrorists during intelligence-based operations in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan Districts of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said on Sunday.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army in a statement said the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Maddi area, Dera Ismail Khan District on the reported presence of the terrorists.
The ISPR said during the conduct of the operation, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as a result of which, three terrorists, including Rehmat, were killed, while two others got injured.
It further said another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan District. The ISPR added during the fire exchange, four terrorists were killed, while three others got injured.
“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
Rich tribute paid
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated security forces for carrying out a successful operation against terrorists in district Dera Ismail Khan and district North Waziristan.
The premier paid tribute to security forces for killing seven terrorists in the operations. He said, “Entire nation salutes the security forces for valiantly fighting terrorists,” he said.
Shehbaz said, “We are fully committed to rooting out all types of terrorism from the country.”
