Senate Committee Seeks Ministries’ Input on Narcotics Bill 2022

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Narcotics Control on Tuesday directed the ministries of law and education to give their input on the Control of Narcotics Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which majorly involved educational institutes.

The directives were given by Senator Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary, Chairman Committee of Narcotics Substances, at the request of Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Nawabzada Shazain Bugti.

Humaira Ahmed, Secretary for Ministry of Narcotics Control said in the meeting that the bill had been sent to the concerned ministries for their input, but it had not yet received a response.

Bill aims to reduce use of narcotics in universities

The mover of the bill, Senator Mohsin Aziz said that the primary objective of the bill was to reduce the use of narcotics in the universities and ensure a healthy environment for the students.
