TRIPOLI: Deputy of Libya’s Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni on Monday met with the UK Ambassador Martin Longden, who briefed him about his visit to Sabha city, his meeting with officials and citizens, and the problems and difficulties that hinder life at various levels.
According to the media office of the presidency, Al-Koni welcomed the ambassador and lauded the interest that the United Kingdom takes in the Libyan file.
Al-Koni during the meeting stressed the importance of his vision of working with the governorate system, for its ability to achieve justice in the distribution of state resources and to reduce financial and administrative corruption, by directly providing its services to the citizens.
The office said that the two sides also discussed developments in the political scene in Libya, and a number of files, especially illegal immigration and its impacts on Libya as a transit nation and the countries of the Mediterranean Basin.
