Session 144 Imposed in Karachi Beach

KARACHI:  Local administration has imposed a two-month ban on swimming near the sea, citing large and hazardous sea waves. Commissioner of Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi imposed the ban under and also imposed Section 144 near the sea.

Earlier, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) alerted the commissioner through a letter, warning of the perilous waves forming near the city’s beaches, which pose a significant threat to swimmers.

In response, Commissioner Naqvi has imposed Section 144 and banned swimming until August 13. This ban covers Canap Beach, Mubarak Village, and Sonera Beach. A notification has been issued, and the relevant police SHOs have been authorized to file cases against anyone violating the ban.
